MC Bandipora Removes Garbage Vulnerable Point at Gulshan Chowk
Convener News Desk
Bandipora, Jan 09: The Municipal Council Bandipora (MCB) has eliminated a Garbage Vulnerable Point (GVP) at Gulshan Chowk, addressing long-standing concerns over sanitation and aesthetics at one of the town’s busiest locations.
Officials said the move is part of the council’s ongoing efforts to improve cleanliness, public health and the overall urban environment.
Earlier, municipal workers used to temporarily pile up garbage collected from various Plan Localities near Gulshan Chowk before transporting it to the dumping site at Zalwan.
Although the site was cleared regularly, the practice led to complaints from shopkeepers, who objected to the unsightly scenes witnessed at the town square during morning hours.
Following the relocation of the garbage collection point, shopkeepers and local residents welcomed the decision and expressed appreciation to the Municipal Council for responding to their demands.
The Municipal Council has appealed to citizens to cooperate in maintaining cleanliness and to support efforts aimed at keeping Bandipora clean and green.
