Hajin, Dec 30: A residential house was partially damaged after a fire broke out in the Mir Mohalla area of Hajin town in Bandipora district on Tuesday morning.
Officials said the fire erupted in a single-storey residential building belonging to Zahoor Ahmad Bhat, son of Mohammad Sultan Bhat, a resident of Mir Mohalla, Hajin.
They said personnel from the Fire and Emergency Services rushed to the spot immediately after receiving the alert and launched firefighting operations to prevent the flames from spreading to adjoining structures.
The fire was brought under control in time, averting a major mishap in the densely populated locality, officials said.
No casualty or injury was reported in the incident.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known, and further investigation is underway.
