33rd Death Anniversary of Late Mirwaiz-i-Kashmir Moulana Mohammad Yaseen Hamdani Observed at Pampore

Pampore, Dec 20: The 33rd death anniversary (Yom-e-Visal) of renowned religious scholar late Mirwaiz-i-Kashmir Moulana Mohammad Yaseen Hamdani was observed with reverence at Khankah-e-Aaliya Pampore on Friday.
The programme was jointly organised by Idara Auqaf Islamia Trust Pampore and Jamait Hamdania to commemorate the life and legacy of the late Mirwaiz.
Prominent religious scholars from various parts of the Valley paid rich tributes to late Moulana Mohammad Yaseen Hamdani, remembering his invaluable contributions to religious scholarship and society. The speakers highlighted that the late Mirwaiz always stood for peace, brotherhood, harmony, and equality, and emphasised the need to follow his teachings and carry forward his mission.
A special prayer meeting was held at his grave, located within the premises of the Holy Shrine of Sheikh Sharief-ud-Din (RA) and Khwaja Masood Wali (RA) at Namblabal Pampore.
After Fateh Khwani, floral tributes were paid to the late Mirwaiz-i-Kashmir.
The programme was attended by Mirwaiz Moulana Riyaz Ahmad Hamdani, Mohammad Ashraf Inayati, General Secretary Jamait Hamdania, Farooq Ahmad Ghani, President Jamait Hamdania, G.M. Mir Saki, Publicity Secretary, Mohammad Shafi Burgi, Mohammad Altaf Khan, Chief Organiser, Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Mohammad Ashraf Ashai, Nazir Ahmad Parray, Mohammad Maqbool, Members of Idara Auqaf Islamia Trust Pampore, including President Mohammad Maqbool Shah, Mohammad Sultan Shah, Mohammad Shafi Basu, Mukhtar Ahmad Tantray, John Mohammad Sheikh and other prominent personalities.
Speaking to Kashmir Convener, Mohammad Ashraf Inayati, General Secretary of Jamait-e-Hamdania, said that the organisation observed the death anniversary (Yom-e-Visal) of one of Jammu and Kashmir’s most revered spiritual and scholarly personalities, the late Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Moulana Mohammad Yaseen Hamdani (RA), with great devotion and respect. On the occasion, rich tributes were paid to his outstanding contributions in the fields of knowledge, religion, and social reform.
He stated that the commemoration programme was jointly organised by Jamait-e-Hamdania and Idarah Auqaf Islamia Trust Pampore in an atmosphere marked by deep reverence and spiritual warmth. A large number of religious scholars, community elders, and followers attended the gathering. During the programme, the life, character, and services of the late Mirwaiz were discussed in detail, highlighting the rich spiritual and scholarly legacy he left behind.
The General Secretary said that the late Mirwaiz Moulana Mohammad Yaseen Hamdani (RA) was not only a distinguished Islamic scholar and an eloquent preacher, but also a compassionate, humble, and virtuous human being. His sermons, speeches, and spiritual teachings had a profound impact on society, touching hearts and guiding people towards moral and spiritual upliftment.
He further added that the services of the late Mirwaiz will always be remembered, as he dedicated his entire life to the service of religion, social reform, and spiritual awakening. The objective of observing his death anniversary, he said, was to keep his mission, teachings, and vision alive and to pass them on to the younger generation.
