Snowfall advisory: Usman Majid seeks advance preparedness

Bandipora, Dec 19: Former Minister and Ex-MLA Bandipora, Usman Majid, has urged the district administration to take all precautionary and preparatory measures in light of the weather advisory predicting snowfall across the Kashmir Valley.

 

In a statement issued to Kashmir Convener, he stressed that advance preparedness is essential to ensure that the public does not face avoidable hardships during inclement weather conditions.

Majid, said that all concerned departments should remain alert and ensure that necessary arrangements are in place, including the availability of snow clearance machinery, uninterrupted supply of electricity and drinking water, and the readiness of healthcare and emergency services.

He also emphasised the need to keep sufficient stocks of essential commodities, medicines, and fuel, especially in remote and snow-bound areas.

 

Majid reiterated that weather advisories must be followed by effective action on the ground to minimise disruption to normal life.

 

He appealed to the administration to adopt a coordinated approach and to the public to remain cautious, adhere to official advisories, and cooperate with authorities to ensure safety and smooth management during snowfall.
