TRI LEGAL J&K Streamlines Traffic Challan Disposal in Srinagar
Srinagar, Dec 16, 2025: In a landmark intervention, TRI LEGAL J&K has successfully simplified the traffic challan disposal process in Srinagar, providing significant relief to commuters.
The move, led by Advocate Syed Mohsin Geelani with the support of Special Mobile Magistrate (Traffic) Shabir Ahmad Malik, is expected to save citizens from multiple visits and long queues previously required to contest challans.
Earlier, residents had to navigate a multilayered procedure that involved contesting challans online, attending multiple court hearings, collecting government receipts, and submitting them at the SSP Traffic Office. This cumbersome process caused delays and inconvenience to thousands of vehicle owners.
Under the new system, a permanent Traffic Department official has been stationed at the court premises, allowing citizens to contest challans, appear before the court for disposal, and submit government receipts on the same day, eliminating the need to visit the SSP Traffic Office separately.
“This reform ensures faster disposal of traffic cases and greater convenience for the public,” said Adv. Geelani. TRI LEGAL J&K emphasized that the intervention reflects its ongoing commitment to improving legal and administrative accessibility for citizens.
Experts said the development marks a significant step toward citizen-centric reforms in traffic management and court procedures in Srinagar, legal experts said.
