Bandipora Police Holds PCPG Meeting at Nowgam, Sumbal

Bandipora, December 10: Bandipora Police organized a Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meeting at Nowgam, Sumbal, under the jurisdiction of Police Post Nowgam, as part of its ongoing efforts to further strengthen police–public cooperation and enhance community engagement in the area.
An official spokesperson said the meeting was chaired by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bandipora, Ajaz Ahmed Zargar and witnessed the participation of representatives from local Market Associations, Auqaf Committees, Numberdars, Chowkidars, local youth groups, and other respected citizens of the area. Officers of District Police Bandipora were also present during the interaction.
During the open discussion, participants raised various community-related concerns and issues affecting their localities.
According to spokesperson, SSP Bandipora patiently listened to the suggestions and grievances of the attendees and assured them that all genuine issues related to other civil departments would be taken up with the concerned authorities for timely redressal, while matters falling under the police domain would be addressed on a priority basis to ensure swift and effective resolution.
Emphasising the vital role of community partnership in maintaining peace and harmony, SSP Zargar urged citizens to extend full cooperation to law enforcement agencies in preserving public order and security. He specifically sought the community’s assistance in identifying and reporting anti-national elements and criminal activities, with special focus on curbing the spread of drug trafficking and substance abuse in the district. He appealed to residents to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activity to the nearest police unit without fear or hesitation.
The participants lauded the initiative of Bandipora Police in holding such interactive sessions and expressed appreciation for the department’s outreach efforts. They reaffirmed their willingness to work collectively with the police to build a peaceful, secure, and crime-free Bandipora, highlighting the importance of continuous dialogue between the police and the public for addressing social challenges effectively.
