5 Rajput Soldier Wins Three Golds, Breaks National Record
Srinagar, Nov 18: Havildar Kapil of 5 Rajput has brought extraordinary laurels to his battalion after clinching three gold medals, including a new national record, at the 25th National Para Swimming Championship 2025–26 held in Hyderabad.
Competing against top para swimmers from across the country, Hav Kapil delivered a stellar performance, winning gold in the 100m freestyle with a personal best timing, the 50m freestyle, and the 50m butterfly, where he also set a new national record.
Senior officers described his achievement as a moment of immense pride for the battalion, praising his grit, discipline and unwavering determination. “His performance reflects unmatched fighting spirit and embodies the true ethos of the force,” a senior official said.
The medals mark one of the finest individual performances by a soldier-athlete in recent national para swimming events and have placed Hav Kapil among the standout para swimmers in the country this year.
