Bandipora Police Launch Major Crackdown on Banned Jamaat-e-Islami; Raids Multiple Locations Across District

Bandipora, November 12: In a major security operation, Bandipora Police on Tuesday carried out simultaneous raids at multiple locations across the district as part of a crackdown on the banned organisation Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI).
According to officials, the raids were conducted to dismantle the terror ecosystem and its support structures operating in the valley.
Police teams searched residential premises and other locations linked to JeI members and their associates.
During the coordinated operations, incriminating materials, including documents and digital devices, were recovered and seized for further investigation. Several individuals associated with the organisation were questioned and bound down under relevant sections to prevent their involvement in unlawful activities.
Officials said the action forms part of sustained efforts to trace and neutralize networks aiding terrorism and subversive activities in north Kashmir.
It may be recalled that Jamaat-e-Islami was banned by the Central Government in 2019 for its alleged links with terror outfits and its role in promoting separatist ideology.
Bandipora Police reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining peace, stability, and public security, stating that strict legal action will be taken against any elements attempting to disturb public order or revive banned networks in the district.
