Moulana Qasmi’s Mother Laid to Rest in Bandipora; Hundreds Participate in Funeral Prayers

Bandipora, August 16:  Hundreds of people participated in Nimaz e Jinazah of Misra Begum- mother of noted Islamic Scholar Moualana Rehmatullah Mir Qasmi at Nebripora Bandipora.

Misra Begum breathed her last on Friday evening. As soon as the news about the demise of Qasmi’s mother broke on social media, hundreds of people from across the valley reached Bandipora to participate in the funeral prayers.

Moulana Qasmi led the funeral Prayers of his mother at about 11:05 PM at Jamia Masjid Qadeem. Soon after she was laid to rest at her ancestral graveyard adjacent to Jamia Qadeem. Adequate arrangements were made by Bandipora Police to ensure that last rites are performed peacefully and smoothly.

On Saturday, thousands of people visited the residence of Moulana Qasmi  to express their condolences with the bereaved family. People from diverse backgrounds including politicians, civil society members and religious leaders of different sects expressed condolence with the bereaved family.

Those who visited the house of Moulana Qasmi included Mufti Azam Dr Nasirul Islam, Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi, MLA Nizamuddin Bhat and other senior politicians, religious scholars and civil society members.

Meanwhile Patron Kashmir Convener Sheikh Gh. Ahmad and  Editor-in-Chief Kashmir Convener, Sheikh Saleem Bin Ahmad also visited the residence of Moulana Qasmi and expressed condolence with the bereaved family.

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti, has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the demise of Misra Begum, mother of noted Islamic scholar and Rector of Darul Uloom Raheemiyyah, Bandipora, Moulana Rehmatullah Mir Qasmi.

In her condolence message, Mehbooba Mufti extended her sympathies to Moulana Qasmi, his family, and the entire community.

 “This is a moment of immense grief for Moulana Qasmi, his family, and all those who held her in high regard. Her passing leaves an irreplaceable void. I pray that Allah (SWT) grants her the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and forgives her shortcomings,” she said.

She further added, “May Allah give strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.”

JK Apni Party chairman Altaf Bukhari, PDP legislator Waheed ur Rehman Para and former minister Usman Majid also expressed condolences with Moulana Qasmi.

Para while taking to microblogging site X, wrote, “A mother’s love is the first school of faith and compassion. Moulana Rehmatullah Qasmi Sahib’s mother personified both in the purest form. She nurtured not only her family but a legacy of service, scholarship, and humanity through her son.  Every mother’s passing leaves a void that words cannot fill, but her prayers, values, and affection always remain there.  May Allah envelope every mother in His infinite mercy and grant them highest places in Jannat-ul-Firdous”.

 

Kashmir Convener Condoles Demise of Moulana Qasmi’s Mother

Bandipora, Aug 16: Kashmir Convener on Saturday expressed heartfelt condolences to noted Islamic scholar and rector of Darul Uloom Rahmiya, Bandipora, Moulana Rehmatullah Qasmi, on the demise of his mother, Misra Begum, who passed away on Friday evening.

A condolence meeting was held at the Kashmir Convener Bureau Office in Bandipora under the chairmanship of Editor-in-Chief Sheikh Saleem. Journalists and participants paid rich tributes to the departed soul and prayed for strength and patience to the bereaved family.

Meanwhile, Patron Kashmir Convener Sheikh Gh. Ahmad and Editor-in-Chief Sheikh Saleem joined the funeral prayers on Friday evening and later visited the family at Plan Bandipora on Saturday to personally convey condolences to the bereaved family especially to Moulana Qasmi, Hafiz Hidayatullah, Haji Habibullah Mir, Mufti Azmatullah and Molvi Hameedullah Mir Qasmi.
