CHINAR International Promotes Social Awareness Through Art at BHS Singhpora

Singhpora Pattan, August 13 —CHINAR International- a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) on Wednesday conducted an “Awareness Through Art” Program at the Government Boys High School Singhpora Pattan under its Parvaaz program,
An official spokesperson of the organization said over a hundred students representing ten adjacent schools participated in the event that was aimed to combine creativity with social awareness, using art as a tool to engage young minds on important community issues.
Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Ghulam Hassan, CHINAR International CEO Abid Qadiri, Heads of Institutions, Cluster Head, teachers, community stakeholders, and parents were present on the occassion.
Proceedings began on a soulful note with the recitation of Quran, Naat, Ladishah, and a captivating Qawali performance that set the cultural tone of the day.
In his welcome address, CHINAR International CEO Abid Qadiri urged parents to play an active role in their children’s development, “We are there to support your children, but you need to stand up on your feet and take charge. Our efforts will be wasted if there is no active participation from you,” he said, commending the strong turnout of parents at the event.
Participants, from classes 6th to 10th, were assigned themes such as drug abuse, education, and happy childhood, encouraging them to reflect on pressing social issues and translate their ideas into artwork. The creative process was filled with vibrant colors, thoughtful expressions, and meaningful conversations among the young artists.
The artwork was evaluated by a panel of judges, and winners were announced before an enthusiastic audience. In addition to awards for top entries, all participating children were presented with certificates as a token of appreciation. “All the participants are winners for us. And all the winners represent everyone present here. It is a collective event and our collective success,” said Afifa Lone, Assistant Director Programs & Communication.
ZEO Ghulam Hassan was chief guest at the felicitation ceremony, emphasized the vital role of art in maintaining children’s mental health, “Programs like these are very important for the holistic development of children. It pushes their imagination and instills basic values in them,” he remarked, adding that such activities create a healthy balance between academics and emotional growth.
Reflecting on the day, Abid Qadiri shared, “More than the event, I was fascinated with the enthusiasm and active participation of everybody. When you look at the engagement and turnout of kids, you understand that your organization is getting recognition, which means a lot to me.”
In charge Headmaster Javed Ahmad Masoodi expressed satisfaction with the collaboration and extended an open invitation for future partnerships with CHINAR International, reaffirming the school’s commitment to community-driven initiatives, “It was a successful event and we are always there whenever CHINAR Internationals wants our space and cooperation in the future.”
