Indian Army Organises Lecture on Women Empowerment for Students in Rajouri
Rajouri, April 16: In a commendable initiative to inspire young minds and promote gender equality, the Indian Army organised an insightful session on Women Empowerment at Modern High School, Seri in Kalal, Rajouri. The event aimed at fostering confidence, ambition, and awareness among girl students, highlighting the importance of education and financial independence in empowering women.
During the session, students were introduced to iconic Indian women who have made extraordinary contributions in various fields — including Kalpana Chawla, Sunita Williams, Mithali Raj, Indira Gandhi, Mary Kom, Kiran Bedi, Arundhati Roy, and Dr Tessy Thomas, widely known as the “Missile Woman of India.” Their stories served as powerful examples of determination and excellence.
An interactive segment encouraged students to come forward and share their dreams and aspirations. The lecture emphasized education as the cornerstone of empowerment and discussed essential themes such as gender equality, self-reliance, and women’s wellbeing. Participants also engaged in a discussion on how empowered women can play a pivotal role in building a stronger nation.
In addition to motivational dialogue, students were informed about various government initiatives like Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Mahila E-Haat, and several skill development schemes that aim to uplift women socially and economically.
The session witnessed participation from 28 students and 3 teachers. As the programme concluded, both students and faculty expressed gratitude to the Indian Army for organizing such a meaningful and educational event. Teachers appreciated the Army’s continuous efforts in guiding and uplifting the youth, while encouraging students to take forward the lessons learned and work toward a brighter, more equitable future.
