Talking to Kashmir Convener, SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir, Ravenderpal Singh, said that today they conducted a drive in the NH44 Chandhara area of Pampore. During this operation, around 60 vehicles were challaned, and some were seized as per the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.

He further mentioned that this is part of their outreach programme, and all DySP’s, DTI’s, and SO’s have been instructed to conduct maximum drives in their jurisdictions. The aim is to create awareness among commuters and drivers, educating them about traffic laws and the correct way to follow them.

Singh emphasized that these awareness programmes yield positive results, and over the past two years, significant improvements have been observed. He believes that around 80% of people are now following the Motor Vehicles Act, although 20% still need to comply. Efforts will continue to ensure complete adherence to traffic laws.

Our efforts will continue to curb over-speeding and overloading, as these are the main factors that lead to accidents. We are working hard because only by controlling these issues can we succeed in ensuring road safety.

Additionally, we aim to utilize our team and public cooperation to achieve this goal. When these issues are effectively managed, families will be saved from tragic accidents that result in loss of life or serious injuries.

Our focus remains on reaching maximum townships where traffic is heavy, ensuring better regulation and awareness to prevent accidents.

He further told Kashmir Convener that in the coming days, schools will be reopening, and he strongly advises all drivers and school owners to keep their documentation complete as per the provisions and guidelines set by the Supreme Court.

He emphasized the importance of carrying all necessary documents and urged everyone to cooperate with the law. He stressed that students from KG to 12th grade are the future of society and should be taken care of properly. This can only happen if everyone follows traffic rules and regulations.

Additionally, he requested parents and drivers to ensure they carry their documents, including a valid driving license. He made it clear that no one will be allowed to drive without a driving license, and strict action will be taken against those found violating this rule.
