Bandipora, June 5 — Government High School Panar on Wednesday hosted a grand event to mark World Environment Day, drawing enthusiastic participation from students across the Panar educational complex.
The event featured a series of speeches, songs, and environment-themed activities aimed at raising awareness about the importance of environmental conservation. Students from both high and primary schools under the complex actively took part in the celebration.
Headmaster of High School Panar and Complex Head, Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi, addressed the gathering, highlighting the critical need for environmental protection and lauding the students for their spirited participation. “It is heartening to see students from primary schools also delivering insightful speeches and contributing meaningfully to the day,” he said.
Prizes were awarded to top-performing students at the conclusion of the programme.
Among the winners, Class 10th student from High School Panar Liyakat Ahmad Chaechi secured first position, a fourth-grade student from Boys Primary School Kuli Mohalla Athwatoo Tabasum Bano secured second place, drawing special appreciation from staff and attendees. Zakir Ahmad Chaechi of class 4th from Primary School Shal Doub secured third position.
In a standout initiative, Boys Primary School Kuli Mohalla Athwatoo organized a separate awareness drive, where students visited homes in the locality to educate their parents on environmental cleanliness. Carrying placards with eco-friendly slogans, the students engaged in door-to-door messaging to spread the importance of sustainable practices.
The events across the complex not only fostered environmental consciousness among students but also sent a strong message of community engagement and ecological responsibility.
