BANDIPORA, JUNE 5: Government Higher Secondary School (HSS) Mantrigam on Wednesday celebrated World Environment Day 2025 by organizing a series of events aimed at promoting environmental awareness and responsibility among students and staff.
In a statement issued to Kashmir Convener, an official spokesperson of the institute said the day began with a rally from the school premises to the nearby Sunerwani River, flagged off by Principal Mr. Masoodul Hassan Reshi in the presence of Vice Principal Mohammad Iqbal Magray and Iftikhar Rashid Wani, Incharge of the school’s Eco Club. Students carried placards and raised slogans advocating for environmental conservation.
The rally was followed by a cleanliness drive in and around the school campus. Students and teachers actively took part in cleaning the surroundings while spreading messages on the importance of maintaining a clean and green environment.
Earlier during the morning assembly, a debate and pledge ceremony was held where students delivered speeches on environmental issues. Speakers emphasized the urgent need to eliminate plastic use and adopt eco-friendly practices in daily life.
The event concluded with enthusiastic slogan chanting by students, reflecting the school community’s collective commitment to protecting nature and promoting sustainability.
