Kathua, Jan 13: Demonstrating its unwavering commitment to veterans and their families, the Gurj Division, under the aegis of the Rising Star Corps, organised a Veteran’s Outreach Programme and Ex-Servicemen Felicitation Ceremony at Janglot, Kathua, on Monday, January 13. The event paid a heartfelt tribute to the selfless sacrifices and invaluable contributions of Army veterans in service to the nation.
The ceremony was graced by 25 distinguished veterans, including two revered war veterans from the 1965 and 1971 conflicts, and 11 Veer Naris. This gathering offered a unique platform for veterans to share their inspiring experiences with younger military personnel, fostering a meaningful dialogue between generations.
The programme also aimed to educate attendees about the latest initiatives introduced by the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare under the Ministry of Defence, New Delhi. Participants were informed about various government and military welfare schemes designed to benefit ex-servicemen and their families.
