Govt to establish 41 KGBV residential Schools, 311 KG schools, 157 CAL centers this year: Sec Edu

Special committee constituted to make Edusat, SITs functional

Srinagar, Jun 27 (KNS): To strengthen the basic infrastructure of Education sector in Jammu and Kashmir 41 KGBV residential schools with an expenditure of Rs 10 crores shall be completed this year whereas 311 Kindergarten and 157 CAL centres will also be established during current year so that students will be benefited with the latest technology like smart classes, etc. This was stated by Secretary School Education, Farooq Ahmad Shah during different meetings held under his chairmanship today at Civil Secretariat, Srinagar 
He said that 22 Model schools will be established this year so that with the help of these Model schools we will be able to provide quality education to the students with the help of latest techniques and technologies. He added that by the establishment of 41 KGBVs students besides getting
education can also get residential facilities. 
He further added that School Education department has taken an initiative under the state plan and SSA of establishing 311 Kindergarten schools this year by which our young students can be educated and keen interest towards schools can be developed among them. 
In different meetings held at his office chamber
today he reviewed various ongoing construction works of the education sectors with all the concerned officers. He impressed upon all the officers and executing agencies to complete the works of 2018-19 under Capex Budget in a stipulated time frame.
In the meeting Director School Education Kashmir Dr.G.N. Itoo, Director School Education Jammu Rakesh Kumar Srangal, Director Planning School Education Javeed Ahmad Mattoo, Deputy Director Planning Muhammad Yousuf Rather, Executive Engineers of Jammu and Kashmir, Ramakant Sharma, Ataanjee, Hashim-u-din, Peerzada Afaaq
and Field Officer SSA Mushtaq Ahmad Shah were also present.
In an another meeting at civil secretariat today, Secretary School Education Farooq Ahmad Shah and Secretary Higher Education Muhammad Javeed Khan jointly took a review of EDUSAT and SIT’s(Satellite interactive terminal) in which the concern officers of the EDUSAT Networking and SIT’s briefed about the functioning and the matters regarding EDUSAT networking and SIT’s.
In the meeting, a committee comprising of Director Colleges Zahoor Ahmad Chaat, Directors of School Education Kashmir and Jammu, Dr. G. N. Itoo and Rakesh Kumar Srangal, Director Technical Education Shabnam
Kamilee and Nodal Principals of Colleges of Jammu and Kashmir was constituted.
The committee was directed to submit
detailed report within one month’s time and submit the recommendations for the smooth functioning of EDUSAT and SIT’s. Principal Women’s College MA Road Srinagar Prof. Shaheen Altaf, Principal Amar Singh College Dr. Yasmeen Ashaie and other concerned officers were also present in the meeting. (KNS)
