Deptt of Agriculture organises Capacity Building programme at Bandipora

Bandipora, November 07: A Capacity Building cum Awareness Programme (CBAP) under Rashteria Krishi Vikas Yojna (RKVY) was today held at Bandipora, in which a large number of progressive farmers participated.

        The programme was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bandipora, Khursheed Ahmad Sanai.

        The experts and subject matter specialists delivered lectures on the development of Apiculture, Mushroom, Soil Health and General Farming. A question-answer session was also held on the occasion to clear the concept of farmers regarding adopting of new and scientific farming methods.

       Speaking on the occasion, The ADC urged upon the farmers to make the best use of knowledge they have gained during the Awareness Programme. He also directed the concerned Agriculture officers to organise such awareness programmes in every zone especially in Rural areas of the District so that more and more farmers could take advantage of the same.

          Chief Agriculture officer , M Qasim Gani on the occasion informed that as many as 16 different schemes are under operation in the district to boost the Agriculture sector on which over Rs 21lakh have been spent till ending September this year. He said under these schemes various Agricultural equipment like power tiller, Irrigation pump sets, brush cutters, tractors, poly green houses, motorised /manual carts, tube Wells/bore Wells, bee colonies/bee hives, vermi composite units, sprayers, honey extractors, water harvesting tanks, seed storage bins and other required thing are being provided to the farmers on subsidized rates.

    The programme was organized by sub divisional agriculture Officer Bandipora, Roshan Ahmad Ganai who gave a welcome address and also thanked the farmers for participating in the program.
