167 Recruits Graduate as BSF Seema Praharis at Humhama Parade
Bandipora, October 11: The Subsidiary Training Centre (STC), Border Security Force (BSF), Humhama, witnessed the passing out parade and attestation ceremony of 167 recruit constables (tradesmen) of Batch No. 44 on Friday, as trainees from different parts of India took their first step into service as trained Seema Praharis.
Solomon Yash Kumar Minz, IPS, IG STC Kashmir BSF, graced the occasion as the chief guest and was welcomed by Shri Yoginder Agarwal, Commandant CI, STC Kashmir. The chief guest inspected the grand parade, which showcased excellent drill, coordination, and discipline by the recruits.
Speaking on the occasion, IG STC Kashmir highlighted the BSF’s pivotal role as the first line of defence and its significant contributions in guarding borders and combating terrorism and militancy with valour and determination. He emphasized the importance of close coordination among security agencies to tackle cross-border terrorism and narco threats and assured that the BSF is fully prepared to meet these challenges. Addressing the recruits, he lauded their confidence and coordination displayed during the parade, congratulated them for choosing BSF as a career, and appreciated the STC Kashmir instructional staff for their efforts in transforming raw recruits into disciplined and confident jawans.
Medals and trophies were awarded to recruits excelling in various indoor and outdoor training activities. The parade for Batch No. 44 was commanded by Recruit Constable/Barber Amit Chandel. The award winners included Amit Chandel for Best in Drill, Rct/WC Ravi Kumar as All-Round Best, Rct/SK Harikesh Chauhan as Second All-Round Best, Rct/WM Pargi Kaushik Kumar for Best in FPET, and Rct/WC Rahul Sharma for Best in Firing.
Senior officers of BSF and other security forces, along with the parents and families of the trainees, attended the ceremony and expressed pride in witnessing the memorable parade. Over the course of 44 weeks, the recruits underwent rigorous training in weapons handling, firing skills, law, drills, and border management, which enhanced their physical and mental efficiency and prepared them to serve the nation with dedication during both peace and conflict.
