“Zero Tolerance against Terrorism”: Lt Governor terminates 52 officials so far linked to terror outfits
Srinagar, July 17: In a momentous stride towards curbing terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha's unyielding commitment to the policy of "Zero Tolerance against Terrorism" has yielded remarkable results.
With the recent termination of 52 government officials connected to terror outfits, including prominent cases such as doctors Dr Nighat Shaheen Chilloo and Dr Bilal Ahmad Dalal, a groundbreaking transformation is underway, officials said on Tuesday.
Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha's proactive measures have effectively dismantled the terror ecosystem that thrived in the region prior to the abrogation of Article 370.
The termination orders against individuals who colluded with Pakistani ISI, terror outfits, and their local assets underscore the administration's resolute stance against terrorism and its enablers.
Notably, the dismissal of Ms. Assabah-ul-Arjamand, a KAS officer and wife of dreaded terrorist Bitta Karate, highlighted deep-seated connections with secessionist-terrorist networks, particularly the JKLF.
Similarly, Syed Abdul Mueed, son of Hizbul Mujahideen founder and most wanted terrorist Syed Salah-ud-din, lost his government job due to his involvement in orchestrating multiple attacks from within the system.
Further reinforcing the determination to eradicate terrorism, the termination of Altaf Hussain Pandit, a professor in the Chemistry Department of Kashmir University, exposes the grave threat posed by radical elements within academic institutions. Additionally, Anees-Ul-Islam, grandson of Syed Ali Shah Geelani, and Shahid Yousuf and Syed Ahmad Shakeel, sons of Salah-ud-din, faced the repercussions of their active involvement in promoting secessionist-separatist ideologies.
Officials said Shah’s appointment in EDI had led to a series of terrorist attacks between 2013 and 2019, with several incidents occurring in and around the JKEDI complex in Sempora, Pampore.
“Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha's unwavering commitment to dismantling the ecosystem that aided J&K terror has marked a significant turning point,” experts said.
“His stringent measures targeting terrorists, their support networks, and collaborators are regarded as the final blow to terrorism's grip on the region. As a result, Jammu and Kashmir are now poised for a safer and more secure future”.
