Sopore, Oct 24: The Wular Smash Volleyball Cup 2025 concluded today at Sheikh-ul-Aalam Ground, Tarzoo, Sopore. Spiker Punch Seer emerged as the champion after a thrilling final against Jahama Volleyball Club. The tournament featured 16 teams from across North Kashmir.
The event was organized by Ishfaq Ahmad Dar, with Zahid Fayaz and the management team ensuring smooth conduct throughout the tournament. Organizers thanked the J&K Sports Council and local authorities for their support in making the event a success.
The closing ceremony saw participation from Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore, S.A. Raina, Divisional Sports Officer J&K Sports Council, Tehsildar Sopore, Sheikh Tariq and other local dignitaries.
Speaking at the event, Divisional Officer Javid Rehman said, “It is encouraging to see such talent and enthusiasm among the youth of North Kashmir. Tournaments like Wular Smash provide the perfect platform for players to showcase their skills and pursue sports professionally.”
Tehsildar Sheikh Tariq added, “This tournament has brought the community together and highlighted the importance of sports in shaping disciplined and healthy youth. We hope to see more such events in the future.”
Spectators from Sopore and surrounding areas thronged the venue, cheering on both teams during a final that kept everyone on edge with intense rallies and spirited performances.
The organizers emphasized that the tournament aimed to promote sports among youth, encourage healthy lifestyles, and provide a platform for local talent to shine.
