World Engineering Day: Meet young professional who contributes to the sustainable development of Bandipora

Bandipora, March 03: Ahead of the World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development, meet a young and energetic engineer from Bandipora who is working tirelessly to use his skills to make Bandipora a better place to live and attractive for the visitors.

Fida Hussain an engineer at Municipal Council Bandipora is working on different dream projects of the town that will not only improve the quality of life but will be an attraction for outsiders.

 As the District Administration and Municipal Council approved the development of a park along the banks of Madhumati stream near Kaloosa on 20 Kanals of land, Fida Hussain has been working beyond office timing devising a plan to consolidate the funds and construct a park for the residents within the budget of Rs 25 lacs.

  “I am myself from the town and I know the problems being faced by urban population. The dwellers especially kids do need place to spend leisure time and here around Madhumati we can have a park where families can have small get together,” he said. 

  The young Engineer after evening prayers visit the site to oversee the land filling as the trucks and tippers are not allowed to move in the town during day time. “After office time, I get fresh and come here at the site to ensure the space is filled properly and oversee other works,” he said. 

  This is not the only dream project for Fida Hussain. He is also overseeing the construction of marriage hall in the town.

   “There was a dire need of a marriage Hall in the town especially in Plan and other adjoining areas as people had to erect tents on road during marriages or other family gatherings,” he said adding that work on construction of marriage hall is going on in full pace at the cost of Rs 98 lacs.

   The young engineer was also behind the proposal submitted by Municipal Council Bandipora for the construction of Public Library. “The Chairman Municipal Council and CEO directed me to prepare a Detailed Project Report for construction of Public Library and hence I along with the technical team have submitted that,” he said adding that once the project is approved the town will have first of its kind public library.

   Being himself the resident of Bandipora town, Fida says he is aware of the hardships of the people and he is trying to contribute his little bit of expertise to provide better facilities to the people.
