Two newly recruited militants surrender before forces in Sopore

Parents of both were called to persuade their sons to lay weapons, duo accepted surrender offer, say officials

Sopore, Oct 22 (KNO): Two newly recruited militants surrendered before the security forces in Tujjar-Shalpora area of Sopore area in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, officials said Thursday.
 
Officials said that two local militants got trapped in a village following the families of duo were called to persuade them to surrender before the security forces. “The duo accepted the surrender offer and laid their arms,” they said.
 
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sopore,  Javaid Iqbal said  that both the trapped militants surrendered before the forces at Tujjar-Shalpora.
 
Sources told KNO that the duo that surrendered were identified as Abid Mushtaq War and Mehraj ud din War, both residents of Wadoora Sopore. “They had gone missing on September 24 this year and joined militancy,” they said—(KNO)
