Army foils major infiltration bid in Machil Sector, 2 Terrorists Killed
Warlike stores recovered, a blow to Peace Disruption Plans

Srinagar, July 19: Indian Army guarding the Line of Control in Machhal sector of Kupwars district on Wednesday foiled an infiltration attempt by Pakistan backed militants and shot dead two infiltrators.
The infilitration bid was foiled a day after four foreign terrorists were killed in Poonch district of Jammu.
ccording to a statement issued by the official spokesperson in Srinagar, in a well-coordinated and intelligence-driven operation, the Indian Army, Border Security Force (BSF), and Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) successfully foiled a possible infiltration attempt in the Macchal Sector.
“Based on specific intelligence provided by BSF, the joint operation involved laying multiple ambushes along potential infiltration routes”.
Spokesperson said late on the night of 18th July, the vigilant own troops detected suspicious movement along the Line of Control (LoC). “Swiftly acting on the intelligence, the security forces continuously tracked the movements of the suspected terrorists using advanced surveillance devices”.
He said as the sun rose on the 19th of July, at approximately 0455 hours, contact was established with the infiltrators, leading to a fierce gunbattle. During the intense firefight, two foreign terrorists were eliminated, thwarting their nefarious plans.
Following the successful engagement, a meticulous Joint Search Operation was launched, with JKP joining the forces in the morning.
The thorough search led to a significant cache of arms and ammunition being recovered, including four AK series rifles, one Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL), five UBGL grenades, nine magazines, 175 AK rounds, six hand grenades, tactical vests, and a large quantity of warlike stores.
Police said they are working to ascertain the identity of the neutralized terrorists, while commending the exemplary coordination and synergy displayed by the security forces during the operation.
Meanwhile, ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar in his message has said that this successful operation not only foiled the infiltration attempt but also dealt a severe blow to the plans of terrorists to disrupt peace and stability in the valley.
“The dedication and commitment of Jammu & Kashmir police/security force personnel involved in this anti-terrorist operation have once again demonstrated their readiness to protect the nation against all odds,” the spokesman said.
