Bandipora, July 30: Two persons were injured in a bear attack in the Ketson area of Aloosa in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Thursday, prompting the Wildlife Department to deploy teams to the area.
Range Officer Wildlife Bandipora, Tanveer Ahmad Lone, said wildlife teams have rushed to the area and are actively monitoring the movement of the wild animal.
He said both the injured persons were shifted to District Hospital Bandipora for treatment, where from one of them has been referred to Srinagar for advanced medical care.
The wildlife official appealed to residents to avoid venturing out unnecessarily as the bear is still roaming in the area. He also urged people to remain vigilant and immediately inform the Wildlife Department in case of any bear sightings.
