Two Day Mega Outreach Programme of CBC Concludes at Tyakshi, Leh

Tyakshi (Leh), October 24 :The two day Mega Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme cum Photo Exhibition, organised by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Field Office Srinagar, concluded today at Army Goodwill School, Tyakshi, Turtuk, Leh.

The outreach programme was held under the themes of Viksit Bharat, Swachhata, Mission LiFE, New Criminal Laws, Vigilance Awareness and other flagship schemes of the Government of India. It aimed to raise awareness about India’s developmental journey, promote environmental conservation, encourage sustainable lifestyle practices, and spread awareness about citizen centric laws and vigilance. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of various educational institutions of the region.

The exhibition was inaugurated on October 23 by Ghulam Abbas, Director, CBC J&K & Ladakh Region, Col. Lakshay Baniyal, Commanding Officer, 3 Kumaon Rifles, Tyakshi, and Naseer Ahmad Rather, Field Publicity Officer, CBC Srinagar, in the presence of officers from the Army, Police, and Ladakh Administration.

During the two day programme, resource persons from multiple departments including the District Administration, Education, Forest, Agriculture, Rural Development, Municipality, Army, and Police delivered lectures on sustainability, Swachhata, responsible citizenship, protection of flora and fauna, and various welfare schemes of the Government of India. They emphasised the importance of community participation and responsible use of natural resources for achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat.

The speakers discussed various developmental initiatives of the government for public welfare, importance of environmental protection, cleanliness and hygiene, protection of flora and fauna, various facets of New Criminal Laws, Sustainable Agricultural Practices and India’s tremendous growth trajectory under the Viksit Bharat initiative.

Director CBC J&K & Ladakh Region, Shri Ghulam Abbas, said that CBC’s outreach efforts are focused on taking government information and welfare initiatives to the remotest corners of the country. He reiterated CBC’s commitment to bridging information gaps and ensuring that citizens, especially youth, are aware of the government’s development and welfare programmes.

Naseer Ahmad Rather, Field Publicity Officer, CBC Srinagar said that the CBC regularly conducts outreach programmes across Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh to promote awareness on national development, environmental protection, and good governance. He added that similar programmes are being planned in Kargil and Drass in the coming weeks to ensure extensive coverage of far flung areas.

The two-day event also featured quiz, painting, drawing, and debate competitions, followed by Shramdaan drives and oath ceremonies reinforcing the message of cleanliness and sustainability. Participants were felicitated with mementoes and certificates for their contribution.

The participants and local population appreciated CBC for conducting such awareness programme in a remote border region of Ladakh, highlighting that such initiatives play a vital role in informing and educating people about various government initiatives.

The programme concluded with a pledge to uphold Swachhata, embrace sustainable living, and contribute to the peace and prosperity of the nation.
