JAMMU, May 14: Twin sisters Thwishaa Sarkar and Triona Sarkar of Army Public School Nagrota have created an academic record after securing top scores in consecutive CBSE board examinations, school authorities said on Thursday.

The sisters, daughters of Colonel Rahul Sarkar and Mrs. Saheli Sarkar, had earlier achieved the highest-ever Class 10 CBSE scores in the history of the school in 2024.

According to the school, Thwishaa secured 490 marks out of 500, scoring 98 per cent, while Triona obtained 486 marks, securing 97.2 per cent in the Class 10 examinations.

The sisters continued their academic performance in the Class 12 CBSE examinations this year, with Triona Sarkar securing 99.4 per cent in the humanities stream and emerging as the topper in Northern Command schools. Thwishaa Sarkar scored 98.2 per cent in the examinations.

School authorities said the achievement was notable considering the frequent transfers associated with military postings, which resulted in the students changing schools at regular intervals.

Apart from academics, the two students have also participated in sports and co-curricular activities including horse riding, swimming, squash, debates and dramatics.

Officials said the sisters have represented their institution in squash competitions, with achievements at the White Knight Corps level.

According to the family, Thwishaa plans to pursue studies in biotechnology and forensic sciences, while Triona aims to build a career in organisational psychology.

The school administration congratulated the students and described their achievement as a milestone in the institution’s academic history. (PIB)
