Tribal Boy Basharat Rashid secures 9th position in Arts stream in Valley

Bandipora, Feb 08:  Basharat Rashid Gojjer, a student from remote village of Sumlar Gojerpati area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora belongiong to a tribal community has secured 97.6 percent marks in Class 12th and has figured at 9th position in Arts Stream in the valley.

          Son of Ex-serviceman Ab Rashid Gojjer, Basharat Rashid got 488 marks out of 500 and has secured 4th position in the district besides being the first tribal boy from Bandipora to secure this position in class 12th in recent past. He was studying in NM Higher Secondary School Bandipora.

          While talking to Kashmir Convener Basharat dedicated his success to his parents and teachers who supported him during lockdown to study online, posed trust and boosted his morale so that he could dream about getting higher grades. “I am thankful to my parents, Teachers who helped me in securing first position in the area. I feel proud as I am getting appreciation from everyone here, which inspires me more”.

          With COVID-19 also playing a spoilsport, Basharat said that he self learned and prepared his lessons on the internet as he didn’t have a tutor either.  He said his parents supported him and always studied with positive intentions in all situations.

          Basharat said his role model is his father as he helps him in dreaming big. He said he wants to join civil services. With the support of my papa (father), I am sure I will achieve my dream Inshallah,” he added.

          He said everyone must chase their dreams with positive intentions in their mind, which will help them a lot literally. His parents also expressed happiness and said that they both “wish to see him shine always.
