Thousands Attend Mega Job Fair Organised by Indian Army, Baramulla Admin
Baramulla, April 17: A mega job fair organised y Indian Army and district administration Baramulla on Thursday attracted thousands of youth to get jobs for 28 prominent companies that were present in the fair.
An official spokesperson said the District Employment & Counselling Centre (DECC) Baramulla, in collaboration with the Indian Army’s Chinar Corps, successfully organized a Mega Job Fair at the Chinar YUVA Centre on Wednesday with an aim to boost employment opportunities and skill development among the youth of Kashmir,
He said the event witnessed a strong turnout of job seekers from across the region, with more than 28 prominent companies participating from various sectors including IT, healthcare, banking, hospitality, retail, and manufacturing. Esteemed employers such as PhonePe, Kia, SBI Life, Tata Winstron, ICICI Bank, Honda, PNB Metlife, Mahindra Motors, and LIC India conducted on-the-spot interviews and offered career counselling to the aspirants.
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) Chinar Corps, along with the GOC Dagger Division, visited the venue and lauded the joint efforts of the district administration and the Indian Army in creating a meaningful platform that connects local youth with credible employment avenues. He expressed satisfaction over the enthusiastic participation and appreciated the fair’s success in linking young talent with national employers.
Alongside job opportunities, the fair also featured upskilling workshops aimed at enhancing the employability of participants. Several self-employment schemes and government-sponsored loan programs were also showcased to encourage entrepreneurship among the youth.
An official spokesperson said this collaborative effort is part of a broader commitment to empower the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, foster economic growth, and integrate the region’s talent into the national mainstream.
