The World and worldly matters were out of my understanding until I confronted them. Our society as I believe is full of believers and one kind are those who proclaim their faith in Allah but purposefully do wrong to others, and this kind is called a hypocrite.
Oh, Hypocrite!
You are sordid,
An epitome of hollow glory.
A murderer, killing Kinder.
Showing not an ounce of remorse.
(-Muzamil Ara)
I am not being judgemental or giving a verdict and before I communicate my ideas to you, let’s remind ourselves the following hadith:
“To every believer, Allah has assigned four things: A Satan who wants to mislead him, an unbeliever who fights him, a believer who envies him, and a hypocrite who tracks down his mistakes (for the evil purpose).”
-Imam Jaffar Sadiq AS.
Another hadith as narrated in Sahih-al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim is “There are four traits of which whoever has them in him is a pure hypocrite. And whoever has one characteristic from them, he has in him one characteristic of hypocrisy until he abandons it. When he is entrusted, he betrays; when he speaks, he lies; when he promises, he breaks his promise; and when he debates, he transgresses.”
In these times hypocrisy seems to be everywhere around. Unfortunate is, that the hypocrites are respected for the things they pretend to preach, for the standards they maintain and benchmark for others, without qualifying any by them.
The forms of hypocrisy are many and the kind of hypocrites is numerous. People who do wrong to others, who do not speak when it is most important to, who do not comprehend reality for what it is, who do not perceive truth for what it is and do not object the wrong.
I have outgrown seeing people reaping benefits of playing puppets, and in the course losing their own morals and dignity. I have seen people who conform the truth or facts around their own beliefs, desires, and imperfections. They play with emotions in a stark and horrific manner. The irony is that these people are completely aware of how adversely they are affecting someone, somewhere!
I do not want to sound like a sermonising moral high grounder, but I refer about those inconsistencies and hypocrisies that we all come across in thousands of ways, small and big. The Quran has mentioned in Surah Al-Tawbah [9:73], “O Prophet! Strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites and be unyielding to them, and their abode is hell and evil is the destination.”
We should obtain a belief system in a manner that our perception of reality is as good to reality itself. It is good not to be hypocritical, and not to fear humanly consequences. We should decide which way to go and what to become. A noble person enduring pain and difficulties or a Blessed Hypocrite?
