Teethwal emerges winner of Gen Bipin Rawat Memorial Football Premier League

Srinagar, 04 March: Gen Bipin Rawat Memorial Football Premier League, a super exciting championship culminated on 4 March here at Chamkote, Karnah. The month long sporting championship started on 12 February with participation of twenty five teams from Karnah besides a team of Indian Army as well. The final of the league was played between Teethwal and Sulaiman United. In the competitive match, team Tithwal scored first goal and at the end Tithwal emerged as a winner with score of 4-1.
After the finals, in the glittering award ceremony Deputy Commander, Shakti Vijay Brigade awarded the champions with the winner’s trophy, cash prize and individual prizes. Besides this, runners up trophy and cash prize were awarded to Suleiman United. The Chief Guest thanked the organisers for successful culmination of mega event and promised all possible assistance for future events as hither to fore.
The championship was conducted by Sports Association Karnah in collaboration with Indian Army. Mr Tahir Zaman, the chairman of Karnah Sports Association Karnah played a major role in organizing the championship. Post culmination of award ceremony, refreshments were organised for all present.
The final was attended by a large number of people especially the youth. It provided a platform for the youth to participate and showcase their sporting talent. "In the times ahead, other sporting championship including athletics will also be conducted with same vigour in Karnah" an army statement said.
