Bandipora, May 14: Teachers from across Bandipora district, particularly those from the remote Gurez valley, have expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Bandipora Abdul Rashid Mir for resolving their long-pending Grade-II promotion orders, which had been delayed for over six months.

The promotion orders, which had become a source of growing frustration among the teaching staff, were issued this week following the intervention of the newly posted CEO.

Teachers said repeated visits to the CEO’s office over the past half-year had yielded no results until the matter was finally addressed with urgency and seriousness by the new officer.

“We had lost hope. We were mentally and emotionally exhausted,” said one teacher from Gurez, reacting to the issuance of the long-awaited orders.

The teachers commended the CEO’s prompt action, especially in light of his holding additional administrative responsibilities. “Despite handling dual charges, the CEO showed dedication and efficiency. His proactive approach brought justice to dozens of teachers who had been waiting in uncertainty,” a group of teachers said in a joint statement.

In an emotional moment, one teacher remarked, “Today, I will take sweets home. My family is waiting to celebrate. We are deeply grateful to the CEO and his entire office for restoring our dignity and hope.”

The move has been widely welcomed within the education department, with many calling it a much-needed morale booster for teaching staff posted in difficult terrains like Gurez.
