Srinagar, Feb 09: BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh on Friday thanked PM Modi for announcing Bharat Ratna to former Prime Minister's PV Narasimha Rao and Chaudhary Charan Singh and agriculture scientist MS Swaminathan.
In a statement, he said that former Prime Minister and visionary leader Narasimha Rao, former Prime Minister, messiah of farmers Chaudhary Charan Singh and father of agricultural revolution MS Swaminathan.
"Heartfelt thanks to respected Prime Minister Modi for announcing the award of Bharat Ratna to Swaminathan. The contribution of Rao in improving our economy, Swaminathan in upliftment of the agriculture sector and Chaudhary Charan Singh in leading India at critical times is unique," he said.
He added that India's highest civilian honour is a true tribute to the work these great men did for thecountry.
