Student Leader Nasir Khuehami Meets Ace Political Strategist Prashant Kishor

New Delhi, December 09: The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) National Convenor, Nasir Khuehami, met India’s renowned political strategist and Jan Suraj founder Prashant Kishor at his residence on Tuesday for an in-depth discussion on issues concerning students, youth leaders, and young professionals from Jammu and Kashmir.

In a statement issued to Kashmir Convener, an official spokesperson of Student’s Association said during the meeting, Khuehami highlighted the persistent challenges faced by J&K students across India, including limited institutional mentoring, restricted exposure to modern policy ecosystems, and gaps in professional communication and political consulting skills.

He emphasized that many Kashmiri students and youth leaders, despite strong academic credentials and grassroots experience, lack opportunities and information in areas such as public policy, governance processes, electoral strategy, media engagement, and participation in national decision-making.

The discussion also encompassed youth-focused programmes, minority issues, leadership development, and the urgent need to integrate Kashmiri students and young leaders into mainstream governance and policy platforms.

Assuring his support, Prashant Kishor expressed his willingness to guide and mentor students and youth leaders from the Valley, particularly those interested in public policy, political communication, campaign strategy, governance reforms, management, data analytics, voter behaviour research, grassroots mobilisation, and narrative building.

He emphasized that a combination of structured mentorship and practical exposure can empower young people to emerge as effective change-makers and responsible leaders.

Kishor lauded the efforts of Nasir Khuehami and the JKSA for running a robust, pan-India student welfare network, especially during periods of uncertainty and crisis.

He appreciated the association’s proactive role in student advocacy, emergency assistance, youth engagement, and leadership-oriented initiatives across various states and the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, describing such grassroots-driven efforts as vital for democratic inclusion.

Prashant Kishor is scheduled to visit Srinagar on 2 February 2026 to participate in a Youth Interaction Programme organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Students Association.

The programme aims to bridge the gap in exposure and understanding among Kashmiri students and youth leaders in areas such as policy formulation, political consultancy, communication strategy, and institutional functioning.
