Bandipora, Feb 27: The football tournament organised by Bandipora Police under the Civic Action Programme (CAP)–2026 concluded on Friday at the Sports Stadium in Hajin, drawing an enthusiastic response from local spectators.
In the final showdown, SSA Hajin defeated Real Soccer FC 2–1 to lift the championship trophy. The closely contested match witnessed a large turnout of fans who cheered both teams throughout the game.
The closing ceremony was attended by SSP Bandipora Aijaz Ahmad Zargar, SDPO Sumbal Nawaz Ahmad Khanday, DySP SOG Hajin Amit Khajuria, Principal GHSS Hajin Mehboob Ahmad and SHO Police Station Hajin Mir Saleem, among other officials.
The winners and runners-up were presented with trophies, medals and cash prizes. Mir Amaan was declared “Man of the Tournament,” while Shahid Ahmad received the “Man of the Match” award for his performance in the final.
Speaking at the event, SSP Bandipora said that sports initiatives under the Civic Action Programme play an important role in fostering a healthy sporting culture among youth while strengthening police–public relations.
He reiterated that the police will continue organising such sporting and community outreach programmes to channel young energy into constructive activities and steer them away from drug abuse and other social evils.
