Sports Forge National Identity and “Chart New Lines of Destiny” : LG Sinha

JAMMU, DEC. 08: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday underscored the unparalleled capacity of sports to fundamentally transform individuals, societies, and the nation at large.

 

Speaking at the inauguration of the sixth edition of the Kashmiri Pandit Premier League (KPPL) here, Sinha as per Kashmir Convener framed sports as a vital instrument for personal and collective development.

 

Addressing the players, the Lieutenant Governor, according to Kashmir Convener, exhorted them to nurture ambitious dreams and pursue well-defined goals with unwavering dedication and perseverance. “We must believe in ourselves, promote shared values, embrace challenges, and stay focused to foster national identity and unity,” Sinha stated.

 

He articulated a philosophical view of athletics, remarking, “Life is best defined by sports. Maintaining a fine equilibrium between body, mind, and soul is a primary objective of life, and this is the very lesson sports imparts.”

 

Sinha elaborated that the spirit of the sporting arena galvanizes individuals to translate vision into tangible action, thereby injecting dynamism into society. “Sports instills the courage to achieve the impossible. It provides both dreams and the fortitude to realize them,” he added.

 

The Lieutenant Governor emphasized the specific importance of community-led initiatives like the KPPL, stating they provide a crucial platform for athletes to refine their skills and push beyond their limits. He further noted that such events play a significant role in strengthening communal ties among the Kashmiri Pandit diaspora spread across India.

 

Earlier this month, Lt. Governor Sinha asserted that “Every Athlete Builds India’s Future.”

 

“I believe that the athletes from every corner of the country who come to events like the National School Games are the makers of the nation’s destiny,” Sinha said. “Their aim is to promote the spirit of national unity and build the future of a golden India.”

 

He added, “When youthful energy and new goals converge, a new dynamism emerges within society and the nation. Every athlete works to chart new lines of destiny through their vision, their skills, and their sweat.”
