Sports Club Bandipora Triumphs in Thrilling U-21 Football Tournament
Bandipora, July 19: Sports Club Bandipora emerged as the victors in an exhilarating U-21 Football Tournament 2023, organized under the Civic Action Programme by 3Bn CRPF. The gripping final match took place at S.K Stadium Bandipora, and the competition concluded on a high note.
The Principal District & Session Judge, Amit Sharma, inaugurated the final match on Tuesday evening, with Mahendra Kumar, PMG, Commandant 3 Bn CRPF, in attendance.
The showdown featured a nail-biting clash between IQRA FC and Sports Club, both teams showcasing relentless determination. The match concluded with a draw, each team scoring one goal.
In the intense tie-breaker, Sports Club held their nerves and clinched victory with a 4-3 score, securing the prestigious trophy. As a reward for their triumph, the Sports Club team received a winning trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 10,000/-, while IQRA FC was awarded the Runners-Up trophy along with a cash prize of Rs. 5,000/-.
Adil Zamal of IQRA FC team, who scored an impressive 5 goals in the tournament, was honored with the Golden Boot, while Kamran of IQRA FC Team received the Golden Gloves award.
The concluding ceremony of the tournament was graced by the esteemed presence of Chief Guest, Principal District & Session Judge Bandipora Amit Sharma. He commended the youth for their enthusiastic participation and congratulated the winning team on their remarkable journey throughout the tournament.
Padma Shree Awardee Faisal Ali Dar adorned the event as the Guest of Honour, accompanied by SSP Bandipora Lakshya Sharma, Sandeep Kumar, 2-1 / C 1077 ARTY BSF, Paulian Kep Co CISF, Ummar Shafi Pandit, ADC Bandipora, and other senior civil Police officers.
Mahendra Kumar, PMG CO 3 Bn CRPF, extended gratitude to the chief guest for gracing the ceremony and expressed appreciation to all participants, spectators, media personnel, and organizers for making the event a resounding success.
He emphasized the importance of sports activities in diverting the youth from drugs and anti-social activities.
Apoorw Second Command and all officers of 03 Bn CRPF were also present at the closing ceremony of the tournament, adding to the sense of achievement and camaraderie.
Officials said the U-21 Football Tournament has not only showcased exceptional sportsmanship but has also strengthened the bond within the community especially the youth.
