Splash of colour, culture brightens Bandipora’s street walls

Bandipora, March 27: To beautify the Bandipora streets, Army has roped in artists from across the country to paint the street walls with murals depicting the Kashmir's spring season.
Officials said the idea behind painting the empty walls was to make them lively with the advent of the spring season that Mark's the end of the harsh winters.
Rouble Nagi Art foundation, a NGO working in field of Art and Women Empowerment carried out beautification drive by painting different flowers that bloom in the spring season in Kashmir marking the beginning of the most pleasant season in Kashmir.

The NGO painted walls at Gurez Mode Bandipora om Bandipora-Gurez road with assistance of Bandipora Army under aegis of Watlab Sector.
Officials said the beautification will connect people through art and bring a positive change in mindset of people as it gives pleasant feeling when u see a decorated wall. "These events not only give the sense of belongingness to residents but also educate people about the cleanliness, hygiene and sanitisation".
An official of Rouble Nagi foundation said its hundreds of volunteer have been painting and beautifying places all over India.
The beautification drive was highly appreciated by the local populace of Bandipora especially Netizens who shared the pictures of beautified walls on their social media accounts and were amazed by the beautifull view at Gurez Mod. They appreciated the move and thanked and praised Bandipora Army for being the leaders in carying out this event for beautification of their city.
Meanwhile Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmad also hailed the idea of beautification of walls and hailed the efforts of the NGO. In a tweet , he said "Art is expression of beauty within. Beautification of areas around Bandipora town started. More to come. Best wishes to team"
