Srinagar, March 6: Amid ongoing Assembly session, specially abled individuals have reiterated their demand for political reservation and an increase in honorarium, emphasizing the need for adequate representation in legislative bodies to address their concerns effectively.

Nazir Ahmad, General Secretary of the Specially Abled Community, stated that the government must take concrete steps to ensure their participation in decision-making processes. He urged the administration to introduce necessary amendments to provide political reservation for persons with disabilities, allowing them to voice their issues within the legislative framework.

Additionally, the community has called for a revision of the existing honorarium, stating that the current financial support is insufficient to sustain their livelihood and well-being.

“We appeal to the concerned authorities to take our demands seriously and address them in the upcoming Assembly session,” Nazir Ahmad stated, urging lawmakers to take immediate action to empower the specially abled community.
