Srinagar, October 11, 2025: Shafqat Iqbal, Special Secretary to the Government, Higher Education Department, along with the Director Colleges, conducted a surprise visit to Government Degree College (GDC) Hyderpora on Friday to review ongoing infrastructure projects and assess academic functioning.
An official spokesperson said the dignitaries were warmly received by the Principal and staff. During the visit, they inspected the newly constructed main building, which is scheduled to be inaugurated soon, and took stock of various campus development initiatives.
They also interacted with permanent and contractual faculty members to gather feedback on enhancing academic quality and ensuring transparency in staff recruitment.
The Principal briefed the officials on the college’s progress and highlighted challenges faced by the institution. Appreciating the staff’s dedication, the Special Secretary and Director Colleges assured timely intervention and support.
