SOS Children’s Villages Srinagar gears up for the COVID-19 pandemic
Reaches out to 169 BPL families in city
SRINAGAR, MAY 03: SOS Children's Villages Srinagar, a Non-Profit Organization geared up for COVID-19 pandemic, intending to reach out to BPL families in the city.
According to the SOS Spokes Person under FSP programme reached out to 169 BPL families of a Pamposh Colony Palpora area. The families were provided various essential commodities including dry ration, hygiene materials and a nutrition kit comprises of 5 kg Rice, 5 kg aata, 1 Liter mustard oil, 1 kg sugar, 1 kg salt, 1 kg moong dal and 1 kg channa dal.
The Spokes Person said that besides distribution of essential commodities the organization also generated awareness among people regarding preventive measures needed to be taken to contain the speared of COVID-19 virus in the community.
Pertinently, SOS children's villages of Srinagar is committed to care of children and is working since 2004 in the city. The organization provide long term family care to orphan children through Family-Based Care (FBC) to strengthen disadvantaged families and to strengthen disadvantaged families and communities as a preventive measure against abandonment and social neglect through Family Strengthening Programme (FSP).
