Six Vehicles Seized, One Penalized in Pampore, Pulwama for Illegal Mineral Extraction

PAMPORE, March 06: In a late-night operation conducted by the Geology and Mining Department Pulwama team, six vehicles were seized for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in various areas of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

One vehicle was also Penalized during this operation. Officials informed Kashmir Convener that Continuing its crackdown on illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, the Geology and Mining Department Pulwama teams conducted night operations at various locations across the district, including Pampore, resulting in the seizure of six vehicles and penalized one vehicle involved in illegal mining activities.

The operation, carried out under the supervision of District Mineral Officer Pulwama Er Mohammad Manzoor, targeted the Lethpora, Wuyan, Tral Lassipora areas of the district.

All the seized vehicles were found transporting minerals without valid e-challans.

The DMO Pulwama Er Mohammad Manzoor emphasised that legal action will be taken against those engaging in illegal mineral extraction and transportation.

He said that despite the month of Ramadan, night operations against illegal mining will continue in different locations across the district.
