SHOPIAN, June 04: As part of its ongoing public outreach programme, Shopian Police organised “Thana Diwas” across the district.

The meeting was chaired by the concerned jurisdictional officer and witnessed active participation from public representatives, members of trade associations and other respected citizens of the areas.

During the interaction, participants raised various issues of public importance. The officers assured that all genuine grievances related to police matters would be addressed on priority, while issues concerning other departments would be taken up with the relevant authorities for prompt redressal.

The officers also emphasized the need for collective efforts in curbing the menace of drug abuse and narcotics trafficking. Participants were urged to cooperate with Police by sharing information about drug peddling and encouraging youth to stay away from substance abuse. Awareness was also created regarding the harmful effects of drugs on individuals, families and society.
