Nagrota, Feb 21: Sainik School Nagrota on Wednesday organised a lecture on Wildlife Awareness during which several experts shared their valuable contribution to wildlife conservation education.
According to the statement, Dr Pankaj Chandan, a Wildlife Biologist and Expert on Himalayan Ecology and Wildlife, delivered an engaging and informative awareness lecture at the school auditorium on February 21, 2024.
The session aimed to enlighten the audience about wildlife encounters and safety measures.
Dr. Pankaj Chandan emphasised the importance of understanding wildlife behaviour and habitats to ensure safe coexistence. A captivating animated video was showcased, illustrating various scenarios of wildlife encounters and appropriate responses.
Practical guidelines on what to do when facing a wild animal were discussed comprehensively. Ms. Oyndrila Sanyal, Senior Research Scholar provided valuable insights into strategies for minimising risks and ensuring personal safety.
The lecture witnessed active participation from all cadets and staff members present. Questions were encouraged, fostering a dynamic learning environment. Dr. Pankaj Chandan's lecture proved to be immensely beneficial, enhancing awareness and preparedness among the audience regarding wildlife encounters.
