Safapora VB Club Wins Capt Vishal Bhandral Memorial Volleyball Tournament

BANDIPORA, April 21: Capt Vishal Bhandral, KC Memorial Volleyball Tournament organised by Indian Army concluded on a high note at SK Stadium, with Safapora VB Club clinching the title after a thrilling finale.

The tournament witnessed participation from around 74 teams across North Kashmir, emerging as a vibrant platform for youth engagement while paying tribute to the fallen officer, Capt Vishal Bhandral (KC).

In the final match, Safapora VB Club delivered an impressive performance to secure the championship, while Jahama Warriors finished as runners-up, showcasing commendable skill and determination throughout the competition.

The closing ceremony was attended by General Officer Commanding (GOC) Kilo Force, Tushar Sharma as Chief Guest, along with Hemant Singh Ponwar, Commander 3 Sector Rashtriya Rifles, and other civil dignitaries.

A large number of spectators attended the grand finale, reflecting the growing popularity of volleyball in the region.

The event highlighted not only competitive spirit but also the importance of channelising youth energy into constructive activities.

Speaking on the occasion, dignitaries appreciated the organisers and emphasised the role of sports in fostering unity, discipline and a sense of purpose among the youth.

The tournament concluded with a strong message of inspiration, remembrance and the power of sports in building a healthier and more cohesive society.
