RRU JK Campus Organises Training Programme on Tech-Driven Disaster Response

Srinagar, Sept 14: Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), J&K Campus, Monday organised a one-week training programme on “Tech-Driven Response Strategies During Disasters” for personnel of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), J&K, to strengthen disaster preparedness, response capabilities and the use of emerging technologies.

DIG, SDRF, J&K, Imtiyaz Hussain Mir, appreciated the initiative and stressed the need for technology, innovation and continuous capacity building in disaster response, particularly in the geographically sensitive region of Jammu & Kashmir. He also emphasised sustained collaboration between academic institutions and response forces.

Director, RRU J&K Campus, Dr Mahesh A. Tripathi, thanked the SDRF team for its participation and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to organising such programmes to facilitate knowledge sharing and technological exposure.

The programme featured sessions by Mohd Rafi Giri, SSP, SDRF, J&K, on security-oriented disaster management; Mifta Ul Shafi, Assistant Professor, Cluster University, on J&K’s disaster risk landscape and technology integration; and Sourav Dey on disaster and resource mapping.

The training highlighted the importance of coordinated efforts among RRU, SDRF and academia to strengthen disaster preparedness and build a more resilient and disaster-ready Jammu & Kashmir.
