Srinagar, February 24: Social activist and founder of the Rouble Nagi Art Foundation, Rouble Nagi on Monday visited Amrohi village in Tangdhar along the Line of Control (LoC) and announced plans to expand skill, art and digital learning centres in border areas of Karnah.

The visit, undertaken with support from the Indian Army, included distribution of blankets among needy families and interaction with local students.

Addressing residents, Nagi highlighted concerns over substance abuse among youth and said the Foundation would work to strengthen skill-based and digital learning initiatives aimed at providing constructive avenues for young people and women in remote frontier villages.

According to officials, two centres are already functional in Tangdhar, while new computer learning facilities will be set up in Amrohi and Jabdi to enhance digital literacy and vocational skills.

Nagi also appreciated the efforts of the Army and the civil administration in promoting border-area tourism and extending support to initiatives focused on community development in LoC villages.

Border belts in north Kashmir, particularly Karnah and Tangdhar sectors, have in recent years seen increased civil-society and Army-backed outreach programmes aimed at education, skill development and youth engagement.
