Republic Day Long Weekend: Airtel IPTV Curates Special Watchlist of Patriotic and Popular Titles

Srinagar, Jan 16: Ahead of the Republic Day long weekend, Airtel IPTV has curated a special watchlist of films and web series centred on themes of patriotism, courage and compelling storytelling, offering viewers an opportunity to combine festive celebrations with meaningful entertainment.

With nationalism in the air and a three-day break approaching, viewers are expected to turn to home-based entertainment, and Airtel IPTV is positioning itself as a one-stop platform for festive binge-watching. The service brings together over 29 streaming applications, more than 600 live TV channels and a large on-demand content library, allowing users to watch popular titles on the big screen from their homes.

Among the highlighted shows is Freedom at Midnight Season 2 on SonyLIV, streaming from January 9, which revisits the political and human turmoil following India’s Independence and Partition. Also on the list is The Night Manager Season 2 on Amazon Prime Video, which premiered on January 11 and continues its spy-thriller narrative built around power, deception and moral conflict.

Fantasy drama enthusiasts can look forward to A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms on JioHotstar, a new Game of Thrones prequel series premiering on January 19, offering a character-driven story set in Westeros. Netflix’s Taskaree: The Smuggler’s Web, released on January 14, features Emraan Hashmi in a gritty thriller exploring the underworld of smuggling and betrayal.

The high-intensity thriller Hijack Season 2 on Apple TV, released on January 14, returns with heightened suspense and crisis-driven storytelling, while 120 Bahadur, re-released on Amazon Prime Video on January 16, revisits the heroic Battle of Rezang La during the 1962 Sino-Indian War, paying tribute to acts of bravery and sacrifice.

Netflix has also released One Last Adventure: The Making of Stranger Things 5 on January 12, offering behind-the-scenes insights into the making of the globally popular series’ final season.

In addition, Airtel IPTV has recommended a set of patriotic films for Republic Day viewing, including Border (Amazon Prime Video), based on the 1971 Indo-Pak war; Shershaah (Amazon Prime Video), depicting the life of Kargil war hero Captain Vikram Batra; Uri: The Surgical Strike (ZEE5 and Airtel Xstream Play), based on the 2016 surgical strikes; and Raazi (Amazon Prime Video), a spy thriller set against the backdrop of Indo-Pak tensions.

Airtel IPTV plans start at ₹699, with the company offering up to 30 days of free service on new IPTV connections through the Airtel Thanks App as part of a festive offer.

As the country prepares to celebrate Republic Day, the curated lineup aims to bring stories of freedom, sacrifice and resilience to living rooms, blending entertainment with the spirit of the occasion.
