Republic Day 2026: 10,000 special guests invited to Kartavya Path parade

New Delhi, Jan 19: As part of efforts to broaden public participation in national celebrations, around 10,000 special guests from across the country have been invited to witness the 77th Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path on January 26, 2026, the government said on Sunday.
According to official information, the invitees include individuals and groups who have made exemplary contributions in diverse fields such as income and employment generation, innovation and research, startups, agriculture, self-help groups, social welfare initiatives and national missions. The move is aimed at recognising grassroots achievements and strengthening Jan Bhagidari in events of national importance.
The special guests represent a wide spectrum of society, including farmers practising natural farming, beneficiaries of key agriculture and rural development schemes, women entrepreneurs, artisans, sportspersons, scientists associated with flagship missions like Chandrayaan and Gaganyaan, innovators, startup founders, MSME performers and unorganised sector workers. Construction workers from the Border Roads Organisation, water conservation activists under the National Mission for Clean Ganga, Anganwadi workers, street vendors, disaster management volunteers and members of self-help groups, including Lakhpati Didis, have also been invited.
The list also features students, youth volunteers, cultural performers, winners of national and international competitions, beneficiaries of social security and livelihood schemes, and representatives from tribal, marginalised and minority communities.
In addition, foreign delegates participating in youth exchange programmes, monk delegations attending the Global Buddhist Summit 2026, and medal winners of international Olympiads are among the invitees.
Officials said the guests will be prominently seated along Kartavya Path during the parade. Apart from attending the Republic Day Celebrations, arrangements have been made for them to visit the National War Memorial, the Prime Ministers’ Museum and other prominent sites in the national capital.
The guests will also get opportunities to interact with Union Ministers during their stay, the government added.
