New Delhi, Sept 9: REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) on Wednesday handed over Musalgaon Power Transmission Limited, a project-specific special purpose vehicle (SPV), to Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (MSETCL) for development of an intra-state transmission project in Maharashtra.
MSETCL emerged as the successful bidder through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process conducted by RECPDCL, the Bid Process Coordinator, for implementation of the project on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis.
The SPV was handed over by RECPDCL General Manager (Engineering) Ratnesh Kumar to MSETCL Chief Engineer (TBCB) Amit R. Naik in the presence of senior officials from MSETCL, Maharashtra State Transmission Utility and RECPDCL.
The project envisages a 220/132/33 kV air-insulated substation (AIS) at Musalgaon, a 220 kV double-circuit line of around 111 km connecting Musalgaon with the existing substations at Babhaleshwar and Raymond, and a 132 kV double-circuit line of around 13 km from Musalgaon to the existing Sinner substation, along with associated works.
The project is scheduled to be implemented within 12 months at an estimated cost of ₹560 crore.
RECPDCL is a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited, a Maharatna Central Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Power.
