RECPDCL Hands Over Davanagere Power Transmission SPV to Power Grid Corporation

New Delhi, September 24: REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited under the Ministry of Power, handed over the project-specific Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) of the ISTS Transmission Project, Davanagere Power Transmission Limited, to Power Grid Corporation of India Limited on 24th September 2025.

The estimated cost of the project is around Rs. 366.26 crore.

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited emerged as the Transmission Service Provider (TSP) through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process conducted by RECPDCL, acting as the Bid Process Coordinator, for the development of the transmission project on a Build, Own, Operate & Transfer (BOOT) basis.

The SPV was formally handed over by Shri T.S.C. Bosh, CEO of RECPDCL, to Arup Kumar Samanta, Senior DGM, Company Secretariat, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, in the presence of senior officials from RECPDCL, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, and the Central Transmission Utility of India Limited.

The implementation period of the project is 24 months.

The scheme includes augmentation of transformation capacity at Davanagere Power Station with 1×1500 MVA 765/400 kV ICT and 4×500 MVA 400/220 kV ICTs, along with 220 kV line bays, aimed at strengthening the region’s power transmission infrastructure.
